Premier Point recognizes that providing treatment in the patient's preferred language has many rewards including decreasing the risk of medication errors, avoidable hospital readmissions, and adverse events which occur due to language barriers.
Our Medical Interpreting and Translation Program provides trained medical interpreters to all patients identified as Limited English proficiency (LEP). Interpreters are fluent in the patient's native language, and are assigned at the start of care to ensure patients understand care instructions and how to take prescribed medications. They also provide sight translations of written care-related documents.
The assigned interpreter remains with the patient until discharge for consistency and to foster stronger rapport and trust with their entire healthcare team. Available languages include Spanish, Polish, Mandarin, Cantonese, and Russian.
Premier Point is removing barriers and delivering a level of care that transforms patients' lives.
